Medal Haul from the Czech Championships U15 and U21: All Our Players Bring Home Precious Metals!

13/05/2025

This past weekend, the Czech National Championships in the U15 and U21 categories took place in Havířov — and our four representatives certainly didn't disappoint. Each of them returns home with at least one medal, with some collecting even more. The tournament brought a number of thrilling matches and valuable experience.

Elen Galetková – Bronze in U15 Doubles

Elen teamed up with Ella Budilová, and together they battled their way to the semifinals, where they were stopped by the top-seeded and eventual champions Adéla Brhelová and Laura Maršíčková. Elen takes home a well-earned bronze medal, although she was less successful in the singles event — losing in the first round of the main draw to Zuzana Ondračková in a tight 3:4 match.

Helena Sommerová – Bronze in U21 Doubles and Silver in U21 Singles

Helena partnered with Tereza Bártová in the doubles competition. The pair reached the semifinals, where they fell to Adéla Sazimová and Vendula Šichánová, securing bronze. Even more impressive was Helena's performance in the singles. After a grueling road to the final, she overcame Veronika Poláková 4:3 in a nail-biting semifinal. In the final, she faced Hanka Kodet but came up short, earning silver after a 0:4 loss.

Jindřich Morávek – Gold and Bronze in U21

In singles, Jindřich reached the semifinals, where he was defeated by Ondřej Květon 2:4, settling for bronze. But in the doubles, he and Jan Škalda were unstoppable — delivering an outstanding performance to become the new U21 national champions!

"Overall, I'd say this championship went really well. I was seeded among the top four, and I managed to live up to that. I lost my first match, but I stayed positive and focused on what came next — and it paid off. I'm a little disappointed about the match with Ondra Květon, where I had some bad luck at times, but that's part of the game. Thankfully, I made up for it in the doubles with Honza Škalda, where we won gold. So I'm happy with my results," commented Jindra.

Vít Kadlec – Silver in U21 Singles

Vít displayed consistent and composed play throughout the tournament. He breezed past Matyáš Kolečkář 4:0 in the semifinals but ran into a dominant Ondřej Květon in the final, losing 1:4 and taking home a well-deserved silver medal.

Congratulations to all our players for their excellent performances and thank you for proudly representing our club!
