Havířov proves too much
In an unusual Monday fixture, we hosted a rescheduled 4th round match of the Women's Extraliga, welcoming the team of SKST Havířov. Predicting a favorite before the match was difficult – and the match itself reflected that. It was a close contest that ultimately went down to the wire, with the visiting side edging out the win.

A total of eight players featured in the match, as both teams made use of their substitution options. On our side, Helena Sommerová had to withdraw due to health reasons and was replaced by Eliška Stramová. Havířov swapped Gabriela Štěpánová for Lucie Juchelková. Among all the players, Havířov's Hanka Kodetová stood out the most, securing three crucial points for her team.
For us, the points came from Nikita Petrovová and Tamara Tomanová. Both defeated Klára Hrabicová, with Tamara adding another win against Štěpánová, and Nikita prevailing over Juchelková. Unfortunately, neither Helena nor Eliška managed to score, and with only four points secured before the doubles match, our girls were left fighting for a draw.
The final doubles didn't go our way. The Havířov pair of Hrabicová/Štěpánová sealed the deal with a 3:1 victory in sets, resulting in a final score of 6:4 for the visitors.
This was our first loss of the season, but the team still remains in the upper half of the table. After four rounds, our girls hold third place overall and will have more opportunities to defend that position in the battle for playoff spots.
Their next match is once again on a Monday – October 7th – as we host HB Ostrov in a rescheduled 3rd round encounter. The match begins at 5:00 PM, so be sure not to miss it!
