The men's Extraliga quarterfinals took place in recent days. Our A-team finished the regular season in 6th place, which meant a matchup with last year's runners-up from Chodov in the playoffs. The battle for a semifinal spot also meant the longest away trip of the entire season for our squad.
In an unusual Monday fixture, we hosted a rescheduled 4th round match of the Women's Extraliga, welcoming the team of SKST Havířov. Predicting a favorite before the match was difficult – and the match itself reflected that. It was a close contest that ultimately went down to the wire, with the visiting side edging out the win.
The Czech National Championships for men and women 2025 took place last weekend in Prostějov. While the singles titles were secured by David Reitšpies and Zdena Blažková, our club also had plenty to celebrate. That's how you could describe yesterday's televised early match of the 16th round of the top domestic league, where our "A" team hosted opponents from northern Bohemia, SKST Liberec. The winner was decided in the very last singles match, giving the fans an intense match right down to the final point.
Somewhat unusually, the 15th round of the Men's Extraliga took place on Tuesday, February 11th. Our "B" team faced their regional rivals from Havířov. On paper, the favorites were clear, especially with Tomáš Polanský missing the match due to injury. However, our guys proved that being the favorite doesn't automatically guarantee a win.
